My name is Charlotte Witheford. I am a foodie and strongly believe life is not worth living without good food! I also LOVE Pilates because it is a delicious form of movement which is accessible and complementary to absolutely everyone.

 

FOR MAINS

My first taste of Pilates was thanks to my late mother who was a Physio, but it wasn’t until I was in my late 20’s when my body started to crave something to counteract neck and shoulder niggles as a result of my desk job as a Landscape Architect. On the back of some advice from a physio I sought out a local class in Cambridge in the UK and became addicted! After experiencing the functional benefits of Pilates for many years, including through both of my pregnancies, I pursued a career change to share the benefits of Pilates with others. My professional Pilates journey began with Polestar in London where I embarked on my Mat training. This left me hungry for more, so I completed the Polestar Studio Equipment course, as well as specialist pre and postnatal training. 

With the return of our family to our home land of New Zealand in 2017, and the opportunity for a new start, I opened my own boutique studio, the Pilates Recipe.  The Studio is a beautiful and well equipped studio space with a Reformer, Trapeze table, Pilates Chair, Spine corrector and a variety of small props to challenge and facilitate movement. Within this space I work with people of all ages and abilities privately, and in very small groups, to ensure you get the most out of your Pilates session.

The Pilates Recipe seeks to create a unique recipe for each individual. We are all different and come with our own ingredients in the form of knowledge, experience, anatomical beauty, injuries and ambition. The Pilates Recipe seeks to complement your ingredients to create positive, delicious and intelligent movement patterns for you. I’d love to help you discover efficiency of movement to support your own physical activities and ultimately improve your experience of life. WHAT IS PILATES?

Pilates is a mindful form of movement which seeks to create a structure to optimise strength, flexibility and mobility of the body within a low impact environment.

No matter what your movement aspirations are, Pilates is the perfect complementary form of exercise to support the body for everyday life. Whether you are starting exercise for the first time, have a specific medical issue, are rehabilitating after injury, are already a seasoned fitness expert, or just want to keep your body moving, you will see and feel the benefit from Pilates.

Pilates is taught on equipment specifically designed for Pilates, as well as on the Mat. Within the Pilates Recipe Studio you will find a reformer, Trapeze Table, and Pilates Chair, along with a variety of small props to both facilitate and challenge movement. There are hundreds of movements possible and the equipment is designed to be accessible for all.

 

Discover the delicious way to move in the Pilates Recipe Studio. You will look, feel and move better than you ever have before. Not only will your posture, core strength, muscle tone and flexibility improve, so too will your mind as you become more aware of our body while you release unwanted stress, aches and pains. You will walk taller and feel wonderful from the inside out, so much so it can become addictive - be warned!
